Spirit of the The Light Horse - Anzac Centenary Sculpture - Julia Creek - Sculptures by Sue Tilley

Back in November when Julia Creek temperatures were hitting anywhere from 40 - 47 degrees celcius (whew) ... Sue Tilley - a very talented artist I know from Townsville was busy working on a new masterpiece for the Julia Creek RSL Club.  "Spirit of the Light Horse - Anzac Centenary Sculpture'.   By 'working',  I mean WELDING STEEL in those extreme temperatures - talk about strength of character...  Sue is also the lady behind the wonderful Brolgas at Nelia which I've also blogged about here before.  Prepare to be amazed ...

RSL Julia Creek - North West Queensland ... the sculptures are on the bypass road ...

The Light Horsemen

... amazing movement ...

... and close up  ...

spare parts come in handy ...

incredible work ...

just LOVE the way Sue has used scrap metal pieces to capture movement in the horse ...

fantastic attention to detail ...

... rear view ..  just love it !

~ make sure and stop if you're in the vicinity ~

... p.s.  just HAD to add this image I found on the McKinlay Shire Council's facebook page ... the Unveiling of the Sculpture this year in Julia Creek on Anzac Day ♥    So effective at night too ♥
