Deborah Keats Art - new blog

Some of you have possibly already seen my new blog but if you haven't ... well, I decided to make a blog where I just show all my work {sold and available} in one place!  Very original name huh?  Deborah Keats Art.  I was trying to think of something clever, but then I thought I'd just stick with good old me...

The quickest way to get to my online folio it is by clicking on the caption below door handle or click on the same door handle that I've put down the right hand side of my blog...

... online folio

I'm going to continue updating it as I finish items ... so knowing my time-table, the updating may be sporadic...  However, if there's anything on there you want to know about feel free to give me a yell.  I'm pretty good at emailling and if I have the fabric or tiles can also do custom orders.

We're on our Winter Vacation at the moment so I've been loving the break from home schooling.  Finally had a chance to clean our house from top to bottom ... get the kids rooms sorted out ... my studio is clean (again!) and next job is the garden as well as some 'me' time in the studio!

Here's a very large pot I'm in the process of doing and can't wait until it's finished ...  they're SPODE tiles - LOVE them!  See you all soon xx

... the front of the pot

... and as you can see I've got a way to go yet ...

... oh and must mention the lovely Susana from Tenderblue has just sent me some pictures today of her gorgeous baby girl dress that she used some of my hand stamped fabric on ... it's just gorgeous!

Roxanne - movie memories

I'm having a flashback today - it's a gorgeous winter day and I'm reminded of that great movie from the '80's - Roxanne!

Steve Martin has always been a fave of mine to watch - so funny ...

Roxanne and C.D. talk about makeup he's 'pretending' to buy...

Roxanne was basically a romantic comedy ...Fire chief  C.D. Bales (Steve Martin) is from a small town in Canada, has a very large nose and is very conscious of it.  He meets Roxanne (Daryl Hannah) who moves to the town and while C.D. falls in Love with Roxanne, things get a bit more complicated when 'buff' new fireman Chris (Rick Rossovich) also moves to town who also is taken with Roxanne...
Chris... coming to grips with his 'chief's' nose ...

... beefcake ...

Anyway, it's light hearted and very funny (well I thought so) and is one of those movies I could watch over and over for the laughs and the scenery.
... charming town of Nelson, BC Canada ..

If you've never seen it, you'll LOVE it ... I'm off to find a copy on ebay for myself so I can watch over and over again :-)
... this was HILARIOUS - 'car 3... car 3 ' ....

the house Roxanne lived in ...

C.D. getting romantic advice from his friend in town...

... more hi-jinks ..

... just do it... Sunday

... so, it's Sunday and I'm sort of procrastinating...  i have  a tonne of ironing to do... tidying up, gardening and then have to organize my homeschooling prepartion for our  Yr 1 and Yr 2  kids for tomorrow!

... but .. all i really want to do is look at Pinterest and do some more sewing and mosaics...

here's a look at what other housewives look like - hmmm ...  maybe i'll get inspired from them. think?

do you have trouble getting organized some days?

... maybe I should dress up {or down} to iron???

... what a sweet way to make a cup of tea!

... even Miranda Kerr does housework... doesn't she???

... is that SHARON STONE ???

... Madonna!  I'm impressed...

... so maybe if I get organized my kitchen can look like THIS!

... and I could wind up looking like THIS!

... or more realistically,  i'll look like THIS but get there eventually...

  ~  have a fab weekend ... or what's left of it! ~

collage fun...

i've been trying to work out how to make collages so my blog looks  a bit more 'professional' when I want to show off
1. my things
2. things I love or ...
3. other people's 'things' in general!

... after a lot of time wasting... i have finally worked out a bit more on my Picasa programme ~  yay!!!

what do you think???   just some faves of mine from Pinterest...

... i need more practise ... but that can be more 'time wasting' fun later...

what i've been up to lately ...

it's been a busy week ...

i finished 2 more shabby chic mosaic pots the other day that i'm super proud of ...
ahhh Paris ...

my 'bouquet' pot ..

then i've been helping with the mustering here this week inbetween homeschooling.  we live on a remote cattle property and when we muster our "Woods" paddock, someone needs to drive a vehicle very slowly in the 'lead' so the cattle follow me, while the men zoom around on motorbikes keeping them all together in a mob behind me.  eventually they make it back to our house 'cattle yards' where the men work them...

our jack russell 'Disco' didn't want to be left behind...

coming over the first channel ...

... manpower !

staying in a mob ... sort of ...

quite a far cry from what my 'etsy' and 'madeit' stores look like huh???

... looking better now!

... up close and personal ...

... and it's always cute to see the calves with their mums... awww

...  all part of living out here and great for the kids to get out and help dad and the men to do what they love the best ...  but alas ... back to school tomorrow!!!

~  enjoy your week ~
