Duni - my featured artisan

I'm very excited to be introducing you to the lovely Duni from Peridot by Duni tonight.

Duni has one of the prettiest stores on Etsy.  It's filled with lots of gorgeous pieces made from exquisite fabrics featuring roses/floral and fun polka dots.  Her store caught my eye a long time ago and I have admired her designs ever since...

I'm so glad she has agreed to share her story with me/us ...
"About two years ago I decided to create a line of feminine AND comfortable sleep/loungewear as I couldn't find anything suitable in the shops. Anything mass-produced was invariably made from cheap fabric that didn't even last through two wash cycles. Most high-end labels are either complicated to wear (rows of buttons, hooks, ties etc.) or made from slinky fabrics, i.e. synthetics which can become a problem during the summer months.

For my "Peridot" line I use only premium quality cottons featuring lots of pretty florals and fun polka dots. My designs are flirty yet comfortable to wear, because of the figure flattering shapes that leave a little more room in the waist/hip area to ensure ease of movement. I incorporate wide stretchy elastic in all the waistbands and a slightly longer rise, because there is nothing more uncomfortable than pajama pants that pinch.

In addition to the clothing I make a range of lifestyle products including sleep masks, laundry bags and one of a kind cosmetic pouches.

I'm strongly influenced by Scandinavian aesthetics - pastels, shabby chic, faded blues and greys, Danish lifestyle company Ib Laursen, and fashion labels such as Cream and Filippa K.
Most of all I draw inspiration from my fabric stock. More often than not it is the pattern on the fabric that dictates what is to be made from it!"

so pretty...

Hello Deborah,

I follow Cathy Bluteau's blog, take some of her online courses and buy some of her beautiful handmade items. She sent me here to look at your blog. I'm so glad that she did. I love the lovely vintage things that you create. So pretty and feminine. Absolutely beautiful.
