Julia Creek Mini School - The Orient Express ...

... this year's mini school theme was the Orient Express. I felt like I had been hit by some kind of express when it was finally finshed, but the kids had a great week catching up with their friends as well as working with their teachers.

the image i screen printed (in black) with help onto about 30 T shirts...

.. and as you can see, each day the kids were busy!

... trying to teach the kids traffic safety is a bit tricky when there's not many vehicles driving through  town!!

Year 2 working hard ... with Mrs G ...

Year 3 and 4 working on their collages with Garth

... we also got to see a travelling exhibition ...

... as well as the kids entries - with a 'Farmer of the Year' theme ...

... and again

... very excited mums and kids at the exhibition ...

my stall

Karen Price's lovely jewellery ...

Oriental Dragons adorned the windows ...

wire wrapped bonsai trees ... cute idea!

... cool terracotta warriors ...

... the locals in town get vey creative with their old vehicles --- wow!

... just couldn't resist taking a few snaps of our latest mosaic project by Claudia Williams  ~ completed with the help of volunteers from Julia Creek and surrounding cattle properties ..

... and from a distance ...

.... OMG ... how did i get talked into doing it 'Gangnam style '?

... and after such a crazy full-on week ... this is where i'm headed ...

~  another fabulous Mini School is over until next year  ~

It sounds like you had a great week. It's so interesting to me how children who are home schooled learn. It must be hard to keep them on track and you would definitely need to be on a schedule to do it. I've a couple of friends who were home schooled and know a few who are home schooling right now. :) It looks like you had a fund-filled week the only kind you can have with kids. Fun and exhausting! I loved seeing all the children's projects. The oriental dragons were very creative, and the terracotta warriors were clever. This brought back some sweet memories for me, as I used to help out in my kid's classes for many years. I know it seems tiring right now, but you are doing a wonderful thing. Children are so special, and they all have their individual talents.
