... recently we attended a beautiful wedding ...
caught up with a lot of friends and had a few drinkies ...
it's interesting how different chandeliers can look after just 3 wine/shandies... what a sad effort on my part !
accommodation was great ... nice views ...
good tv reception ...
and while the shell collecting didn't quite go as planned
the kids all managed to have a good time regardless ...
... with one of ours {yes, only 4 of these are ours} insisting on taking home a coconut to open ...
... back to reality and school almost about to start ...
... but i'm still wishing life could be an endless holiday ...
~ love the summer holidays ~

The quick trip ...
Here we are in Sunny Townsville. A fast and furious few days filled with appointments, Christmas shopping and swimming lessons for the kids. Last but not least ... a fabulous new cut and colour to get me through the silly season ... wahoo!

Message in a Bottle
Many, many years ago, my oldest brother found a message in a bottle on our annual holiday at South Mission Beach. Yes! Really! I was so jealous for years... I really wanted to find a genie in a bottle when I was a kid, but the next best thing would have been finding your 'typical' message in a bottle.
It was from a girl called Halinka who was from a Scandanavian country. Just a small plastic white tube with the 'Shell' emblem on both ends. My mother assumed there would have been hundereds of them dropped of a Shell tanker sometime back in the late 1960's and it was organized by the Red Cross from memory.
My brother wrote to Halinka - I think they were about the same age, but we never did get a reply. What a shame - would have been an amazing story.
note to self... find out Halinka's full name and edit this post ... just in case she's reads this one day ...
~ never lose your sense of wonder ~
